To go off to explore and searching for a hundred-years-old railroad soul, such is the purpose of the journey diary « The Montenvers train ». In Chamonix, world capital of climbing, men had respite to get closer to the heart of the Massif of Mont-Blanc. Since 1908, the Montenvers train has been guiding its passengers through the forest, in the end of the mythical summits of the Drus, Charmoz and the Grandes Jorasses, to reach the seizing view that the biggest French glacier offers: the « Mer de Glace », the Ice Sea. This symbolic place has been the witness of climatic evolutions and transformations, and it still releases the breath of past. Rails stand for a passage, an onset. They allow us to get closer to the past centuries, taking shelter in these rocks, cliffs, ice and greatness.
